Completed the Warrior Dash Carolinas today- a 5k obstacle course that takes you through dumpsters, a lake, under barbed wire, over fire and through a mud pit. Needless to say, it was awesome. Enjoyed the day with fellow Warriors Scott Hepburn, Simon Cole, Roy Morejon, Dani Burns, Genevieve Joost, Jason Wheatley and Kevin Lock.

Found this Moonshine Jelly at an orchard just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in western NC.
Took the family gem mining in north western NC (Spruce Pine/Little Switzerland area). Lots of amazing gems to be found in the mountains there including emeralds, rubies, quartz, amethyst and even some gold.
Got to witness a shark feeding off the pier at Surfside Beach. Those are 8-foot blacktip sharks. They stop by every evening for the end-of-day leftover bait toss by the pier fishermen.
Enjoyed a couple days on the beach at Surside Beach, SC. Close enough to Myrtle Beach to take advantage of what it has to offer, but much less crowded. Nice family vacation spot.
Finally had a chance to see my beloved Pirates play the Nationals at Nationals Park in DC. Pirates win 10-2. Great game.
Ran the Marine Corps Mud Run in Pinnacle, NC with my brother and some friends. My first mud race, and definitely not my last. Lots of fun.
